Sustainable Cold Climate Technology

The capacity and ability to execute technology based research and development activities is of vital importance for the industrial operations in the Arctic regions. The ColdTech project vision is to establish a competence platform for development of new and improved infrastructures, safe and environmentally friendly. The overall aim is to create a dynamic knowledge hub. It will consist of in depth research activities combining technological aspects with the elements of nature represented by ice, atmospheric icing, wind, snow, temperature, humidity and darkness. This will facilitate the development of sustainable infrastructure and operations in the high north.

The ColdTech project is based in Narvik, Northern Norway. The project is led by Norut Narvik and Narvik University college.
